This was the first project of second year uni and a really enjoyable one too! It was very challenging because it really taught me just how much consideration goes into creating a character. I took the character 'Geez' from my bored summer illustrations based on Jeremy Kyle and decided to use him as my character as I had warmed up to him quite a bit.

Geez is an 18 year old idiot who has absolutely no grasp on communication/people skills, no understanding of manners or hygiene and couldn't outsmart a brick wall. His nasal-broken-fog-horn kind of voice is one his teachers wish to avoid hearing, but his lack of consideration for others means that he is constantly interrupting with strange noises such as 'brrrap' and 'naaah I ayn't doin that blud'. His hobbies consist of hiding from the 'PoPo', smoking 'gggaaaannnjaa', rapping about 'hard times' he's never experienced and of course spending a worrying amount of time in the virtual gaming world.

I loved working with Geez and I've grown to love this obnoxious character. The quality of the images are not 'polished' but I'm not a massive fan of digital artwork or even comics for that matter, its never been a huge interest of mine. So this was my first time with either of these and I was pleased with the outcome. As long as the humour reached your comedy sensors, thats all I wanted!

I would consider making more of these in the future and am constantly trying to better my Adobe skills, so please watch out for more computer based work!

  1. I love your style of working, has a real abstract feel to it all which I really like :). You have great stories behind your work too which is great. Love these digital ways of working too. Amazing!
